However, Dan has tried to maintain an informal teaching style and has a likeable personality, which is a plus point for the Lead Guitar Secrets. The audio CD comprises of 14 high quality play-along tracks that contain rhythm-only and full band versions.

Lead Guitar Secrets also has a bonus package that comes along with the course; however, this one too fails to impress. The progress track contained in the guide is just a blank spreadsheet that will be of no use when you are recording during the course.

The quick start guide is nothing but a 21-step plan that takes you through the course. The real bonus though, is a 10-minute long video that can be viewed online. That said, this could have been added in the DVD as well.

Some new things you will learn from the course are how to build finger strength, maximize the picking speed, write your songs, pick up licks, solos and riffs, and how to master and play any symbol.
