If you want to play a good song that you've recently heard and you don't know the chords, you can go to a local music store and ask for the published sheet music for that particular song. At first glance, this seems to be a good idea; however, if you would like to play numerous songs, this option will be very expensive and time-consuming. In addition, you may not always get the sheet music you want.
This is exactly where Sienzo Digital Music Mentor comes in. Sienzo Digital Music Mentor is software that will allow you to create your guitar chords and bass guitar tablature from the sound files on your computer. This is helpful for bass players, guitarists, and keyboard players as well.
The software is pretty slick and seems to work well enough. If you are thinking of a test-run, you can try out the free trial version that allows you to download the content. That said, the trial version has certain limitations. It does not allow you to save or print the music notation, which prevents all the chords from showing in the chord dialog. It also allows analysis of only the first 30 seconds of the song. Other than this, it seems to be a functional system.
Sienzo Digital Music Mentor is easy to use; there are some simple steps involved in getting started with DMM:
You have to start the program by clicking the "load" button, then choose the "favorite song" option, after which you have to click on the "analyze" option. That is all there is to it.
Sienzo Digital Music Mentor supports different types music formats such as .mp3, .cda, .wma, .voc, and .wav. If you are trying to use songs from the iTunes library with the ACC format, you will have to burn them into a CD and re-import the same in an .mp3 format to make them compatible with Sienzo Digital Music Mentor.
Sienzo also allows you to transpose music as per your requirements. The drawback with the software is that it is not Mac compatible.
Fur support, Sienzo Digital Music Mentor offers live tech support, online FAQs, and an email support option. However, we failed to get a hold of them when we tried to contact them, and they were never available for any live support. They did not even respond to our emails.
You can contact the Sienzo Digital Music Mentor customer care within 30 days from the date of purchase and claim a 100% refund. However, that doesn't seem to be a great option, as their customer support is very poor.
The Sienzo Digital Music Mentor site allows you to buy the downloadable version only. They accept orders through phone or via PayPal.
Sienzo Digital Music Mentor is quite expensive for the quality it offers. However, if you feel that it could make your guitar playing sessions enjoyable, try the free trial version to check out how it works.
